Remote Factory Acceptance Test for Flow Forming Lathe.
Even the most elaborated machine can be remotely accepted thanks to the most advanced digital resources. DENN has just delivered to a customer a heavy duty Flowforming lathe, model RL-60/150. We can observe in the picture the final pipe compared to the initial preform tube. Flowforming is a process that saves investment in raw material thanks to be a chip-less deformation technology: no waste in expensive alloys or rare metals. Working rollers compress the initial preform tube against a mould to achieve the required length and thickness of the final part.
Applications of tube flow forming are ideal for very long parts that must have thin walls, and with high level of tolerance. These include industries like Oil & Gas, Aerospace, defence, kitchenware, automotive, etc.
DENN supports its customers in consultancy and design of both tooling and process, to select the best solution to their requirements of production of precision tube elements.

Water pump shaft, a perfect application for flow forming
A New remote acceptance procedure has taken place at DENN’s facilities in Barcelona, by an East Europe customer, for a flowforming lathe RL-15. The customer is a leader in the manufacture of water circulation pumps, and the application was to make the inner shafts of the pumps.
From a preform typically made by press, the working rollers of our flowforming lathe applies pressure and elongation to the initial part to get an ideal wall thickness; obtaining a part with no material waste, and a perfect ratio between weight and volume. A chipless technology with a short cycle time, thus achieving a high productivity process.
RL-15 flow forming lathe is the smallest model of the series, a compact machine with all equipment to allow for remote assistance, and into the environment of the best programming system of the market, the DENN-CAS graphical software, and the DENN-DATA, which is DENN’s solution for INDUSTRY 4.0, including productivity data, process analysis, energy consumption, diagnostics, app, etc.

DENN - UPC AGREEMENT / POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY OF CATALONIA
Joan Francesc Puigjaner, CEO of INDUSTRIAS PUIGJANER S.A. - DENN, and Professor Francesc Torres, Rector of the UNIVERSITAT POLITÉCNICA DE CATALUNYA - UPC, have recently signed a cooperation agreement. According to it, among other issues, the UPC will be given for use an NTR-25 spin forming lathe within the framework of the CONDISIM joint project dedicated to the study of conformability in incremental deformation processes.
The objectives of this cooperation are the study of formability for a range of materials, the specialized training of workshop and technical staff, and the use of DENN machinery for demonstration purposes as a part UPC courses and master programs. The projected term of this assignment is 4 years, which can be extended by mutual agreement.
The spin forming and flow forming technologies offer a sustainable solution for the manufacturing sectors with high production rates and requirements. As a world leader in this field, strengthened by the priceless support of the UPC university network, DENN does its best to promote the spread of knowledge on this technology.
We strongly believe that this collaboration will bring benefits to both parties as well as to the manufacturing industry of our country.
